Thrush : Amoxicillin for thrush? Thrush is a fungal infection and an antibiotic like Amoxicillin won't do anything for it. You need an anti-fungal like Diflucan (fluconazole). You also need to get a new dentist.

Yeast infection: Thrush (candidiasis) is a yeast infection. Amoxicillin will not get rid of a fungal infection and may make it worse. Double check with your dentist.

Not recommended: Amoxicillin allows yeast to grow and the thrush symptoms to occur. It is not usually serious and can generally be cleared with treatment like miconazole or Nystatin. See your PCP for evaluation.
