Um, NO!: Hi. Very abnormal! Are the lips blue too? The feet? There are MANY conditions that can cause this (cyanosis) in newborns including cardiac, vascular, and hematologic. Please take the infant to the pediatrician! Good luck.

Exposure: Acrocyanosis is caused by vasospasm of the small vessels to the skin in response to cold exposure. Making sure your baby is adequately protected from the cold should include swaddling and if needed baby mitts for the hands, and socks for his feet.
