My son 3.5 yes old had hand, foot and mouth a month ago which then got infected. the infection has cleared, scabs are gone but he is now left with red marks all over his mouth/chin that turn purple in the cold. will this fade or is this scarring?

He is very likely to have developed something new. Hand-foot-mouth disease does not leave "red marks" after recovery. Have him checked by his PCP.
