May an oncologist say to a patient that just ended 6 weekly chemo infusions that a ct and pet scan shows no cancer even in the 2 lymph nodes?

S/he may say that: If the imaging studies do not show residual tumor the doctor may communicate that. Please remember if that is what the doctor said, it means that at that time no tumor was detectable, it does not mean that tumor does not exist in the body in undetectable form.
