A member asked:

After chemo and/or radiation a person with cancer will never know if he/she is cancer free since ct's/pet scans will not show just a few cells?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That is correct: The limitation of our technology is down to about 1 mm. sized lesions when applying MRI technology. CT technology can see only down to about 1 cm. in diameter of a lesioned area. The problem is that it only really takes 1 viable and HEALTHY CANCER CELL to get the whole process of recrudescence started again. Therefore, being "CANCER FREE", is something that can be said but never proven.
