Palpitations: Palpitations have many causes from anxiety through anatomic and physiologic abnormalities. The feeling of bounding usually relates to the volume of blood pumped with each palpitation. Monitor: It would be important to determine what type of rhythm is the orgin of your palpitations- most are benign. If they occur on a daily basis, a 24 Hour Holter monitor would be best- this would both determine the heart rhythm during your palpitations as well as quantify how many during the 24hr period. If are less often, a 4 week event monitor would be best, in order to capture your palpitations.
