Could be,: fungal esophagitis is possible, but uncommon in an immune -competent person, at any rate steroids in general have many effects on the stomach and esophagus, please visit your doctor, who might prescribe you a higher PPI dose, an anti-fungal if he/she suspects, or refers you to a gastroenterologist, you deserve evaluation anyways, good luck
