Zantac Singulair (montelukast): Some allergists recommend combining H1 blocker such as benadryl, (diphenhydramine) zyrtec ewith H2 blocker such as zantac, pepcid to block all histamine receptors. Other options include Singulair. Discuss with your doctor.

No scratching: Think about everything you've eaten or been exposed to in the last 3 days or viral symptoms. Sometimes they are idiopathic. Ask your doctor to check your blood counts, ANA, thyroid function if they persist and become chronic. Some dermatologists advise zantac (ranitidine) as an H1 blocker which can enhance histamine blockade of antihistamines. Singular is another idea. Aveeno oatmeal baths, cut fingernails.

Allergy specialist: Watch carefully to see what triggers this even though at times there is really nothing you can determine is the actual cause. It is important to see an Allergist for evaluation. This specialist will also help you with definitive treatment. Good luck
