My wife is told after a echocardiography that ""interatrial septum appears aneurysmal"" what is that mean?

Atrial septal aneury: Atrial septal aneurysm is seen sometimes on echo. Usually there are no hemodynamic consequences, we worry about thrombus formation but unless the rhythm is atrial fibrillation don't know that we should anticoagulate.

Prob. normal variant: The intraatrial septum is the divider between the left and right atria (top chambers of heart). There is normally a hole there in fetal development that closes in infancy in most people. About 1% of the population has some part of that hole remaining. A floppy ias is associated with higher frequency of this residual hole, but is not diagnostic. Unless history of stroke, prob. Nothing to do.
