TORCH: One possibility for elevated liver enzymes and failure to thrive in an infant would be one of the TORCH infections. These are congenitally acquired viral infections with a variety of sequela. Your pediatrician can help you sort this out.

High AST and ALT: Are indicative of a hepatitis. Infants with hepatitis and failure to thrive should be evaluated for metabolic diseases, infectious diseases, and other systemic disease. He should be seen by a pediatric gastroenterologist with interest in liver disease (hepatology).
