For what reason would a general doctor turn down an application to be a new patient? i just got health insurance, and now can't get in to see anyone.

Several: He could already be full of patients and no longer taking new patients. It could be an issue with your insurance provider. The doctor may not accept patients from that insurance carrier. Obamacare is another issue where many physicians may not take those types of patients.
