Tinnitis: Tinnitus is the perception of sound within the human ear ("ringing of the ears") when no external sound is present. Despite the origin of the name, "ringing" is only one of many sounds the person may perceive. Tinnitus is not a disease, but a condition that can result from a wide range of underlying causes. Best to seek medical attention for more thorough evaluation. Best of health to you!

Need an exam: A popping sound and tinnitus can be caused by Eustachian tube dysfunction. The ET sends air from the back of the throat to the middle ear. The ET can get obstructed, typically with a cold and fluid can build up in the middle ear. ***A condition called "sudden hearing loss" can be preceded by a sudden pop followed by hearing loss immediately or within 3 days. Ear: you may have ruptured and ear drum. They usually heal in a week. don't put any drops in it unless recommended by your Dr. Have it checked in a week if you still have the ringing
