Maybe: It may; but I would go back to the doctor to get your urine tested. You may not have a UTI (which are unusual in men), and you may need a different abx.

Maybe: It is usually effective against E.coli which is a common UTI germ. However, there are many that are not killed by this drug. I like to have a culture with sensitivities both to document the reality of the UTI (vs STI) and have a guide to what will cure it.
