Need more info: One year of age is the outer limit for requiring immediate physician assessment for a child with high fever. If the baby is acting normally, feeding well, not irritable and not sleeping excessively you can just watch them, keep them well hydrated. There is controversy over whether fever is due to teething. There are several otc products directly addressing this. See your pharmacist.

Go to MD: The cough and running fever are probably not related to the teething. Teething is a normal process and usually relatively painless and easy. Take your child to the doctor for a diagnosis and treatment of the cough and fever.

See Pediatrician: Cough and fever probably viral in origin and just happens to be teething at same time. Check in w your pediatrician. Also, 1st dental cm-up w a pediatric dental specialist as soon as 1st tooth erupts. Pedodontist will do exam, diet and oral hygiene instruction, Fluoride balancing, crania-facial growth and development evaluation, and will begin the bonding process w your child. Don't put it off.
