Not normal: High fever is not "normal" , but a symptom that your baby is likely fighting an infection. It is an old wives tale that teething causes fever, so don't blame the fever on that. It could be just a virus, as she is having cough and cold symptoms. However, if the fever is high and persistent, your baby needs to get checked out so that you can make sure she doesn't have pneumonia or an ear infection.

Teething: During teething infants can show irritability, restlessness, drooling, increase in the amout of finger sucking or rubbing the gum. A fever or cough during this time should be considered coincidental rather than than related to the eruption process.
