No: Do "disk bulges" always cause sciatica during passive Straight Leg Raise (SLR) test? Disk bulges are normal variants expressed as function of body's position within gravitational field. Disk "herniations" might arouse pain. SLR test arouses posterior thigh/back pain if sacroiliac joint (SIJ) is disordered, & diagnostic evaluation of SIJ is conducted with the Active Straight Leg Raise (ASLR) test.

No: Since i think of bulges as incidental asymptomatic findings i dont think they would ever cause a true straight leg raise take care extrapolating what we know about herniations to bulges they are two different subjects good luck spinsl injections can cinfirm oain generators iwould look past the bulge a look for another pain generator like pirifirmis syndrome or tension myositis syndrome sarno
