Straight veins.: Varicose veins are grape-like and bulging. Veins can be enlarged and not be varicose veins. Straight large veins are not considered varicose veins and can be enlarged for many reasons including genetics, staining, levels of hydration and loss of elasticity in the skin with aging. If this vein hurts you it can be treated by sclerotherapy or removal via tiny incisions. See a vein specialist.
