Beans,nuts,salmon &: Beans (all but esp. Black beans- rich in antioxidants), nuts of all types (esp. Walnuts & almonds), wild salmon (farmed salmon is lower in omega 3's & has more toxins), sardines, organic chicken, mushrooms, non-gmo tofu/tempeh & organic eggs (which surprisingly do not significantly raise cholesterol).Emphasizing healthy protein (even if fatty like nuts) can reduce weight if simple carbs are avoided.

Don't overdo it: Don't overdo the protein in your diet, as it can be toxic to the kidney. You need to restrict total calories and lose weight plus lipids, fruits and veggies have good protein without a lot of saturated fat that can elevate ldl. Check with a good registered dietitian.
