Ulcerative colitis: No simple answer to care and treatment of uc. Start with a low fat, low gluten diet and a bowel regimen. Avoid alcohol and nicotine. Your primary doc will refer you to a GI doc for medications and colonoscopy. There are several medications that can help. Hopefully you will stabilize at this point. If not, surgical consult and procedures may become necessary.
