Soft diet: Soups, puddings, jello, & hard-boiled eggs are foods that are acceptable based on their soft texture and blandness. Stay away from hard, crunchy or spicy foods. The idea is to keep the wound free of excess debris and to allow the wound to heal- 'unobstructed' as quickly as possible. Remember to stay away from straws while drinking or anything else that creates negative pressure on the socket.

Nothing hot/spicy: You need basically to stay on soft non irritating foods like jello, pudding, cold cuts, and soups. Avoid hot and spicy foods as they irritate the wound, smoking and drinking through a straw as negative pressure may cause the loss of the blood clotted in the socket to close it , delaying healing.
