Talk to dentist: If you are having local anesthetic, you can eat right up until you get to the dentist's office. If you are having IV sedation, discuss with the dentist when you can eat.

Great Question: Why not ask the dentist who is extraction the tooth? They know what anesthesia you are being given and should have definitely discussed all pre-op instructions with you.
