Which antibiotic?: It does not always follow that the antibiotic for an ear infection will effectively treat a sinus infraction. Often for a sinus infection, you need something like a decongestant, topical or oral anti-inflammatory, sinus rinse and/ or mucus thinner for full treatment and recovery. Have your doctor re-examine you and adjust your treatment as needed.

Antibiotics: Possibilities, one you may have a virus causing the sinusitis and antibiotics treat bacterial (or prevent bacterial infection on top of the viral infection). The antibiotics may have helped the bacterial sinusitis, but you still have congestion and pressure in the sinuses. Third, the bacterial causing the sinusitis may no be susceptible to the antibiotic.
