I had four concurrent episodes of tonsillitis which have since cleared up, i now have intermittent left earache, is it related?

Perhaps: If you have a persistent inflammatory focus behind the tonsil it may cause obstruction of the nasopharygeal end of the eustacian tube and cause ear pain. Ear pain can also be referred from irritation of the back of the throat. If this persists go and see an ENT doctor. Hope you get better soon.
