Virus? Flu? Strep?: Sounds like viral pharyngitis, i.e. a bad cold. Possibly influenza. However, strep throat is a possibility -- you need tonsils to get strep. With these severe symptoms, best to see your doctor for diagnosis and possible testing for strep.
