Maybe not: for bacterial throat infection that will respond to antibiotic, would expect some improvement within 3-4 days. If taking an antibiotic for a week without improvement, and an infection is present, then the infection is either due to something other than bacteria or due to a strain resistant to the antibiotic used. keep the prescribing physician up to date.
