Need treatment: Cidp may fluctuate in intensity but clearly can worsen over time and result in profound disability. Ivig infusions every 3-4 weeks can be miraculous and can totally stabilize most patients. Chronic steroids may be similar but side effects may be prohibitive. Pts with autoimmune neuropathies are clearly at risk for infections and truly need therapeutic intervention, as above.
