Does brachioplasty leave a big scar?

Yes: The trade off for contouring the upper arms are scars. These scars are on the inner upper arm but may be quite extensive.

Long Scar: Brachioplasty ( arm lifting surgery) is an excellent operation that addresses excess skin and adipose tissue of the upper arms; the operation serves to and move the contour of the upper arm. The downside is the scar which often extends from the axilla to the elbow. I like to keep the scar as low as possible on the upper arm, preventing it from invisible from the frontal or back views.

Optimize the scar: All surgery leaves scars, and the art of plastic surgery is to hide those scars as best as possible. This can be difficult in brachioplasty because the upper arms are always visible and rarely covered. Depends: It depends on how much tissue needs to be removed. Often the scar will extend from the axilla to the elbow.

It depends: Brachioplasty can be performed using a number of techniques depending on the degree of skin and fat excess in your upper arms. In the most severe cases, the surgery will leave a scar along the inside of your upper arm from your armpit to just above your elbow. You should see a board certified plastic surgery for evaluation.
