Yes: Most any surgery can be performed under sedation, dental extraction is no different. Depending upon the expected difficulty of the extraction, the skill, training and expertise of the provider and your medical health, the range of options can be from simple local anesthetic ("novocaine") to full general anesthesia. Most (~98%) of the extractions i perform are done with simple local anesthetic.
