IV sedation: I remove most wisdom teeth, even impacted ones, with a local anesthetic (and "sweet air"). Some patients elect to have IV sedation for the procedure. There is no right or wrong answer here. Do you "need it"? You don't have to have it, but for certain individuals it is a great option. This is something that you need to discuss with your surgeon and determine what would be best for you.

No, but: No right answer. Dr. Sandler is right. I do most wisdom teeth with IV sedation or general anesthesia. Make sure you are evaluated by an oral surgeon. The best solution for you will be clear.
