Yes: As long as you are in the hands of a qualified practitioner and have no medical problems to preclude its use. There are some slight risks involved (as with any procedure). You should have this discussion with an oral surgeon before you decide what is best for you.

Yes: Iv sedation has its own merit where stress reduction protocol is needed in a high stress, medical compromised individual. It should be used with caution and the provider should be well trained in this area. A wisdom tooth extraction procedure itself is very routine and predictable in the hand of well train dentist so a lot of time IV sedation is not needed.
