Better?: I have been practicing and removing teeth for over 35 years. The vast majority only require local anesthesia. For many i also administer nitrous oxide\oxygen analgesia (sweet air-laughing gas). That's all that is really necessary. For some patient they want or require IV sedation and that's fine if necessary. Inhalation sedation is not used very much for extractions. Discuss with an oral surgeon.

Comfort zone: More than 30 percent of the population avoids the dentist due to fear. Sedation dentistry is used to provide a safe, comfortable relaxing and anxiety-free experience for certain people receiving any dental treatment. Depending on your degree of fear or anxiety, different levels of sedation may be required. Take care and have a comfortable experience.
