Normal tissue: Dense breast is a term used in mammogram reports. It represents normal breast tissue (keeps us perky). As we get older, the dense tissue is less but can be in pockets throughout the breast. Density limits our ability to see an abnormality. In these cases extra mammogram views and/or an ultrasound maybe useful.
