A 27-year-old female asked:

is it safe to go jogging when you've been up every night? what are the health risks for this?

None: Depends why you haven't been sleeping but i would expect no direct relationship to injury risk with jogging. Fatigued people have a higher risk of injury in baseball pitching and skiing.

Is it unusual to have right side cramps when you start jogging?

Running and Cramps: Running or jogging does not usually cause pelvic cramps. I suspect that the cause of the cramps is independent of the exercise. Nevertheless, it is possible that as you begin getting in shape that you will get lower oxygen to the pelvic organs so more is available to your legs and muscles involved in running. If the pain persists then i suggest a visit to the gynecologist. Good luck.
A 48-year-old member asked:

I have been doing sprints and jogging every night for about two weeks but still not slimming down?

The media : Has done us a disservice. Changes do not occur overnight. Continue the exercise especially if you enjoy it. It may tae time. If after 6 weeks you still have noticed no change, consult with your doctor about metabolic syndrome. Some people do not lose any weight when they begin exercise but they convert it to muscle and notice clothes fit better. Have you made any dietary adjustments?
A 46-year-old member asked:

Is 20 minutes jogging on a treadmill a good enough start?

Dr. Joseph Roosth

Yes: If you are healthy enough to jog for 20 minutes on a treadmill, then do this every day with devotion to the point of fanatacism. Yes, this would be a great way to start daily routine of exercising. Simply walking for 20 minutes a day on a treadmill is also great. I prefer my walks outside, but if you prefer the machine, then go for it.
