Yes: 50% of women with pcos have ovarian cysts and the other half don't. Most will have irregular cycles lasting greater than 38 days or they don't menstruate on a regular basis at all.

Yes: Ovarian cysts are common, and do not mean you have pcos. Pcos is a metabolic disease characterized by Insulin resistance. It often is present without ovarian cysts.
