Not really: In PCO, multiple tiny follicles/cysts form. They produce high levels of estrogen which then inhibit ovulation, which then cause the process to go on, unchecked. It is possible to get your hormones out of whack due to an estrogen producing cyst (or cysts) but the hormones don't cause the cysts. Its the reverse. OCP can shut the ovaries down and decrease cyst growth.

Yes and no: Ovarian cysts can be formed in absence of Pcos and therefore they can resolve on their own irrespective of hormonal correction for Pcos. Pl make sure you get frequent US checks for ovarian cysts and need for treatment.
