It feels like my four year old is growing a new tooth, bottom right, is this normal? how can i help with pain?

New molar!: There are molars that erupt between 4-6 years of age. Usually its closer or after age 5, but can start earlier. Cold on area, topical teething med to provide local relief ok to use. If pain really bad, could try tylenol (acetaminophen). If pain really really bad, then is likely not a tooth erupting but could be a problem with a tooth already in area - then see dentist.

Yes. : Children's tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin can help. Simple warm water (not hot--check heat like formula--back of hand and no sugar or sweetener so as not to cause decay) to sip on can be comforting. Pain will pass soon. If lasts more than 3 days, call pediatrician.
