My son is growing new tooth at the bottom but the old one is not soft, should we take the old one out or should we wait for it to be soft?

Neither: You should have him see a dentist. If you leave the primary tooth it may cause the secondary tooth to erupt incorrectly. If you try to extract the primary tooth without anesthesia you will hurt your son, you may break the tooth, or you may damage the secondary tooth. Let a dentist take a look.

See your dentist: It is most important that the correct decision be made so that your son has a healthy smile. Please ask your dentist to evaluate this issue

Retained baby tooth : Every baby tooth has shedding age .At times when the Baby tooth does not shed by itself ,it should be extracted to allow Permanent ( Replaced adult tooth ) to erupt at the baby tooth position . Take your Child to your Dentist for evaluation .
