Yes: Costochondritis does often cause these symptoms. Tenderness at the costochondral junction (area between the ribs and cartilage that connects to the breastbone) is the most common sign with this condition.

Yes: Costochondritis refers to an inflammatory condition that affects the ribs, at the junction where the bone portion of the rib articulates with the cartilage.
