A member asked:

Colposcopy detected abnormal vessels. what does this indicate? dr was vaugue. i also had agcus

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Abnormal cells.: Atypical vessels is a common term used in colposcopy evaluation of pap smear abnormalities. The presence of atypical vessels may be related to pre-cancerousor even cancerous cells. These areas usually need to be biopsied to rule out or confirm this possibility. Agcus stands for atypical glandular cells of undeterminate significance. This also is something that requires further investigation.
