ADHD: Intuniv the the brand name for a long-acting version of a medicine called Guanfacine and is approved for the treatment of adhd in children and adolescents. It's reputed major advantage is once-a-day dosing, rather than 2-3 doses needed with guanfacine, as well as lower likelihood of sedation, a common side effect with guanfacine. It works in about 40-45% of individuals with adhd.

Intuniv ER: Intuniv ER (guanfacine) is a once a day medication used to treat Attention Deficit Disorder in children & adolescents but is used off-label for adults. It is not a stimulant but rathe an alpha2A-adrenergic receptor agonist which can be used as an adjunct for people using stimulants or as monotherapy for people who can't tolerate stimulants. It is also an antihypertensive medication.
