Guanfacine: Intuniv is just a slow release form of guanfacine. This is also known as tenex. It can affect blood pressure, cause sleepiness, and have liver side effects. It usually calms children, but some get very moody and aggressive. You need to discuss with his doctor the balance of benefit to side effect.

Nothing terrible: Sedation is #1 but it's milder than its cousin clonidine. Intuniv is a form of Guanfacine which originally was a blood pressure med. This means it can lower blood pressure and possibly cause dizziness or even a fall. Occasionally, a kid will get constipated.
