How is adhd med, intuniv?

Helps hyperactivity : Intuniv is extended release version of Guanfacine (tenex) that has the indication for treating hypertension but is also used "off label" for heroine withdrawal and to calm hyperactivity. In my experience it often helps children with adhd sleep better and tends to decrease reactivity in many children with either adhd or odd. Dosing is usually best in evening, but smaller does can help during day.

Intuniv: Intuniv ER (guanfacine) is a once a day non-stimulant med used to treat Attention Deficit Disorder in children & adolescents but is used off-label for adults. It is an alpha2A-adrenergic receptor agonist which can be used as an adjunct with stimulants or as monotherapy for people who can't tolerate stimulants. It is also an antihypertensive medication. It is not a controlled substance.
