Causes: Depression & anxiety are often emotional responses to events and our interpretations of them as sad or threatening. With few exceptions, the events themselves cannot cause a person to be upset, depressed, or anxious. Our interpretations of the events are what tend to be more problematic. Therapies are often aimed at revising dysfunctional thoughts so that we function better. Biology counts too.
