Start w/fiber: Often low fiber intake is cause. Increase fluids, foods w/fiber (whole grains, beans, legumes, fruits, veggies). Nonabsorb lax like miralax, (polyethylene glycol) easy, tolerated well. Poorly absorbed minerals like magnesium ok (unless bad kidney function, check w/md). Phosphate laxatives not used so much now-kidney issues. Mineral oil on occ;chr.Interferes with vits/min abs; stimulants-work fast, crampy, habituating.
