Miralax: Many of the pain medicines used in the post surgical patients can slow the transit of poop through the system & allow it to dry out more. Miralax and similar water trapping agents mix with your digestive debris & prevent loss of the water, allowing it to remain soft. It was prescription long ago but is now OTC with instructions on the product.
