A CBC may: Give answers about red cells (size, volume HGB concentration) that no one wants to know, but the total hemoglobin and % (hematocrit), whilte cell count and platelet count could all be normal, or all be low with lmphoma affecting marrow. Blood tests help only a little, and more to point to effects of treatment than diagnosis of lymphoma as a condition.

Likely for leukemia: Oftentimes leukemias can be picked up on routine CBC since it is a cancer of the blood and causes abnormal values of your red and white blood cells to appear. Lymphomas do not always affect the blood in a way that would be picked up on cbc. All leukemias however will not be picked up on routine CBC and CBC alone will not tell you what kind of leukemia specifically one might have.
