Parathyroiectomy 10/25/12 recent labs ca 10.2 pth 42 and ca 10. and pth 47 do i still have a bad para or does it take time for the #'s to go down?

Normal, but: Your calciums and pth's are all normal, but at the high end of normal. Any effect of surgery would be evident by now. Make sure you're taking calcium and vitamin d. Check your ionized calcium and f/u with your endocrinologist.

No: #s decrease right after surgery - but i think you are ok.

Normal PTH now: Your PTH is now normal. I assume prior to surgery your level was much higher. The high calcium should have corrected by now since your excessive bone breakdown caused by PTH should have stopped and the activation of vitamin d (related to PTH activation) causing increased gut absorptioon of calcium should also have stopped. Another cause of elevated calcium should be sought
