Hi PTH after surgery: 53 F I had a parathyroidectomy 2 wks ago having 3 1\2 glands removed. One gland was 1000mg, PTH still high. I feel worse now is this normal? ANS: If one of the glands had contained a single tumor PTH would not still be high. Must have hyperplasia and remaining piece (or another one) is still there. Check with your team. Get back with us.
