Chronic infection: Hidraadenitis is a chronic recurring infection of the apocrine sweat glands. These sweat glands are usually found only in the axilla and groin areas. Patients develop infections in these glands that result in open sores and drainage. Multiple minor procedures for drainage if infection or excision of sinus tracts are often needed over time.
