A member asked:

I am experiencing 1 lump inside my right armpit only. its about the size of a penny and its oval shaped. it is solid and tender when i touch it. what could it be? will it go away on its own? is it cancerous? thanks.

Some possibilities: Pain in the armpit can be from the skin, the muscles, the lymph nodes, the ribs, etc... The best person to see first is the primary care doctor, who can then refer to a specialist if he is not able to diagnose and solve the problem. A lump can be a cyst, a lymph node, an infected oil gland in the skin, a skin abscess, etc... (so a doctor should take a look).
